The Nashoba Valley Chorale will again offer opportunities for Young Artists in the upcoming 2018-2019 season. Stay tuned for updates on the details as they become available.
The Nashoba Valley Chorale is inviting young voice students from the Nashoba Valley to audition to perform vocal solos at our spring concert on April 21, 2018. In addition, we offer the opportunity for folk, Celtic, or bluegrass ensembles to perform their own piece. The program for the evening will also include special guests The Katie McNally Trio, and we are excited at the prospect of collaborating with your students.
Singers will be auditioning to perform the solos from Vivaldi’s Gloria and Vaughan Williams’ In Windsor Forest with the Nashoba Valley Chorale and a professional chamber ensemble, under the direction of Anne Watson Born, conductor.*
High school, Homeschool or College student in good standing, currently enrolled in voice lessons, instrumental lessons or a school ensemble. Students must be available for a dress rehearsal. (Vocal Soloists Thursday, April 19th; Ensemble on Wednesday, April 18th, 7:30pm ) and the performance (Saturday, April 21st, 8pm). The dress rehearsal and performance will both be held at Littleton High School.
Depending on the number of applicants, students may be asked to attend a callback with the Nashoba Valley Chorale on a date TBD.
For Vocal Solos: Record a 2 minute selection of the student singing a Baroque classical piece that demonstrates the student’s range and facility.
For Folk or Celtic Ensemble (one to four members: any combination of voices and instruments): Record the ensemble performing a piece they would like to add to our concert.
We accept submissions in .wav, or .mp3 format. A link to a live YouTube video is also acceptable.
The recording should be “dry”. Addition of digital reverb, pitch correction, or other audio effects post-recording will disqualify the submission.
Send your file or link in an email to email@example.com. Be sure to put the student’s name and school, or the ensemble name, in the subject line.
Once we receive your email and Google form submission, we will send you a confirmation email.
Submissions are due by Monday, March 12 at 11:59pm.
There is no financial remuneration for this event, but the student(s) chosen will receive a recording of their performance.
Please contact Anne Watson Born, firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions.
